If it was not obvious before, Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell are playing the best offensive basketball we have seen in recent memory, and the Indiana Fever backcourt duo's latest accomplishment puts a seal on that.
For the first time since 2011, a WNBA backcourt duo has swept Player of the Month awards in consecutive months, and Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell are the culprits.
After Clark was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for June, Mitchell on Wednesday followed it by winning the honor for July, as the All-Star guards continue to sizzle for the East's best team.

Thanks to the duo's efforts, the Fever has won nine of the past 12 games. But Mitchell has been on an insane scoring run throughout this season.
Mitchell showed why she is one of the favorites to win the MVP award this season, especially over the past 14 games, where she is averaging 27.6 points on 52.4 percent shooting, including a 50.5 percent mark from the 3-point range.
Meanwhile, this is easily Clark's best year out of the three she has played. Despite the back issues and usual off-court drama surrounding her, Clark shows no signs of stopping her highly prolific form.
In the past six games, Clark has averaged 27.7 points and 9.2 assists. That stretch includes a 26-10-10 triple-double against the Portland Fire.
With a backcourt this productive, it is little wonder why the Fever are on course to have the most efficient offense in WNBA history.
While Clark and Mitchell have cemented themselves as the league's best backcourt duo, the MVP race is still open, and they are about to face the strongest candidate in the race on Thursday.
Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell Face A'ja Wilson and the Aces
The game between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces could not have arrived at any better time.
We are talking about the Top 3 WNBA scoring leaders for this season, with Wilson leading the way with 26.6 points, followed by Mitchell (24.0 points) and Clark (21.5 points).
The Fever's current record for the season is 19-11, sitting in fifth place. Meanwhile, the Aces only trail Olivia Miles and the Minnesota Lynx in second place.
As we near the playoffs, this game will be a telling story of how all three players fare against the best of the best currently.
So, will we see a new MVP award winner this season, or has A'ja Wilson already sealed her record fifth honor? Let us know in the comments.
