The Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson is in the midst of another stellar season, and a "historic" one if you ask her boyfriend, the Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo.
After winning her fourth MVP (most in WNBA) last season, Wilson cemented her standing among the all-time greats. She is again leading the race this season, backed by arguably her best offensive season. How is Wilson's season looking so far?
"It's historic. I don't even know how you put a word to what she is doing," Adebayo told reporters on Sunday, Aug. 2, in a video posted by Miami sports show host Tobin. "It was really breathtaking to see somebody go and continue to raise the bar."

In 27 games this season, Wilson is averaging 26.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. She is leading the league in points & blocks and ranks third in rebounds.
"She's a great person to look up to," Adebayo added in the video posted by Tobin.
Adebayo is one person who knows his girlfriend more than perhaps anybody in her life. When great things happen to great people, that's when sports make the most sense. Adebayo is watching it happen personally.
The Aces star is just 29 years old, and she has little left to prove anything and yet she continues to raise the standard for herself every year.
From offense to defense, Wilson stands as the model for a complete player. She has done it one season after another, prompting her name in the WNBA GOAT conversation.
"I've been the GOAT since 1996": A'ja Wilson gets honest about her GOAT status
Even if A'ja Wilson retires after this season, she would still be one of the top three names on the WNBA's 'greatest of all-time' list. Her career has been that impactful.
While she has fueled the 'GOAT' debate, what does the Aces' star really think about people honoring her with the status?
"I'm grateful," she told ESPN's Malika Andrews on July 31. "If I'm the GOAT, cool. I'm there in my eyes. I've been the GOAT since 1996. This is just a part of it."
That is Wilson's greatest strength: her confidence and self-love. She remains humble in the face of the praise, but she is not done yet.
"It's truly crazy cuz you think about so many people that have been on this list of GOATs, and I just wouldn't imagine my name being on it at this point of my career. I still got so much to do...still have to keep going. I want more," she added.
Wilson's greatness is reflected by her insane achievements. In 2025, she became the only player in the WNBA and NBA to sweep the WNBA MVP, Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year award, and win the scoring title in the same season.
Alongside her four MVPs, A'ja Wilson has two Finals MVPs and three DPOY awards. The 3x champion has two scoring titles and led the league in blocks in five different seasons.
