Aubrey Plaza Makes Surprise Appearance at Caitlin Clark-Led Indiana Fever Practice

The Indiana Fever's celebrity following keeps growing by the week, but this time one of Hollywood's own decided that simply watching from the stands wasn't enough for her, choosing instead to step onto the practice court and challenge the team's biggest star directly.

"I did a little research. Unfortunately, this team is pretty good. You've got Caitlin Clark with unlimited range, maybe with some cardio limitations," Aubrey Plaza said in a comedic segment posted by @WNBAonNBC, kicking off her mock scouting report of the Fever roster.

It is obvious that Aubrey Plaza has thrown in a joke regarding Clark’s endurance; however, Clark is averaging 20.1 points, 7.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game this year and also put up 12 points, 6 assists and 7 rebounds during the 109-75 victory over Las Vegas on July 12.

"Then there's Aaliyah Boston controlling the paint, and Sophie Cunningham, who's somehow becoming an enforcer on the court and a meme. At the same time I could play with these guys, 22, I can take you," Plaza continued in the same NBC segment, capping off her breakdown with a direct challenge aimed at Clark.

During the practice, Plaza instructed Lexie Hull in the same unconventional manner, replicating stretching exercises that annoyed Hull enough to cause her to miss a shot.

It is evident from the impressive victory achieved by the Fever, coupled with their best in the league average of 94.0 points per game and a 14-9 record at the top of the Eastern Conference.

This victory against Las Vegas is not only because Clark managed to dismiss the celebrity's challenge but has also been another milestone for the player on the court.

Caitlin Clark's Historic Ascent to 600 Assists

Kelsey Mitchell has been shouldering most of the scoring burden for Indiana, notching at least 25 points for five consecutive games and 20 points in nine of her last ten appearances, giving her a 22.7 points per game scoring average that ranks her among the top players in the league.

While Mitchell has handled the scoring, Clark has handled the setup, and the Aces game gave her a milestone to match the moment.

Her fifth assist of the night, part of a six-assist, 12-point performance, pushed her career total to exactly 600.

That assist made Clark the fastest player in WNBA history to hit 600 for her career, needing just 72 games to get there.

The mark broke a record that had stood since Ticha Penicheiro reached the same number in 81 games.

With the regular season still unfolding, Indiana's larger focus remains on keeping Clark healthy for the stretch run.

Records aside, a championship is still the one accomplishment missing from her young career, and this Fever roster looks built to chase it.

Do you think Caitlin Clark and the Fever are ready to make a real championship push this season? Comment and let us know what you think.
