"Ask the Magic 8-Ball": Caitlin Clark Speaks Out After 7th Technical Foul Leaves Her on Brink of Suspension

A hugely positive Indiana Fever gameday took a slight detour, as Caitlin Clark's foul troubles have caught up to her ahead of the All-Star weekend.

The Fever broke a franchise scoring record in a 123-88 blowout win over the Connecticut Sun, but Clark picked up her seventh technical foul of the season. If Clark receives one more, she will automatically face a one-game suspension.

As a result, Clark did not play in the fourth quarter. "She said she was locking me up, so I said, 'Scoreboard,' and the ref didn't like that," Clark said, via the Athletic's James Boyd.

When asked if a suspension is inevitable, Clark replied, "I can't predict the future, you've got to ask the magic 8-ball."

Clark picked up the technical foul as part of a double tech alongside Connecticut's Saniya Rivers. The two exchanged words after Clark picked up a foul on a drive, with the Fever star appearing to point to a scoreboard that read 95-67 Indiana.

Along with Clark, even rival Angel Reese is on seven technical fouls for the season. And with 17 games still left to play in the regular season, both Clark and Reese will be extra careful from now on.

While Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston hold the Fever fort pretty solidly themselves, Clark has been on an insane run of form that was once again shown against Connecticut.

Clark once again anchored the game for the Fever, finishing with 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting and 11 assists in 27 minutes.

There was a lot of criticism against those who believed in Clark to be the face of the WNBA. However, with such immense impact on the Fever, Clark was bound to receive her flowers.

Caitlin Clark is NBA 2K27's Newest Cover Star

Clark added another milestone to her resume as the cover star of NBA 2K27's Deluxe Edition.

According to Sports Illustrated's Grant Young, this is a rather big deal for WNBA players, who were previously only featured in league-specific variants of the game.

"But Clark is on the deluxe edition, which is one of the three main flagship copies that's sold globally alongside the standard and ultra editions. In other words, this is the first time a WNBA player has been one of the three main flagship NBA 2K covers." Young said on his social media.

The NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition will cost $99.99, which is part of the game's flagship release, alongside the Standard ($69.99) and Ultra ($149.99) editions.

With this honor and the upcoming All-Star Game, there will be more eyes on Clark than ever before. She has the chance to show her game to the whole world, while simultaneously proving the peers who voted her the eleventh best guard in the league wrong.
