Angel Reese vs. Caitlin Clark: who is the better player in the league right now?

The Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and the Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese are the two players who have had a fierce rivalry since they arrived in the WNBA in 2024. After years of growth, both now appear sharper, making it difficult to decide which is the better player.

While Clark remains with the Fever for the third straight season, Reese was traded by the Sky to the Dream in exchange for two first-round picks. But both Reese and Clark have shown the same determination and skills as before.

Before the start of the season, ESPN writers Michael Voepel, Charlie Creme, Kendra Andrews, and Kareem Copeland wrote an article in April ranking the league's top 50 players heading into the season.

While Clark was ranked 10th, being described as one of the league's best passers, Reese was ranked 22nd in the piece and was described as one of the best rebounders in the sport, according to ESPN.

Now that both players have gelled with their teams even more since the start of the season, they look to thrive in their respective environments. But who is the better of the two right now?

Angel Reese or Caitlin Clark: who is better in 2026

Both Clark and Reese have been crucial for their teams. While Clark has been averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists, and four rebounds per game this season, Reese has been averaging 14.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

Clark's strong point has always been her passing and her ability to hit three-pointers. While Clark ranks second in assists in the league, she ranks third on the three-pointers-made list with 2.6 per game.

Reese has been the dominant one on the glass ever since she arrived, and she continues to do so. She is averaging 5.4 offensive rebounds per game, being a threat to her opponents in the paint, and ranking first in the league for it as well.

Not only that, but she is also defensively stout, averaging 6.3 defensive rebounds along with 1.5 steals per game. So then, who is the better player of the two?

The answer comes down to the type of player you're looking for. Clark is a great passer, has good vision, and can shoot from the three-point line. Reese, on the other hand, has the ability to force her way through in the paint with her physicality and secure important rebounds for the team.

Who do you guys think is the better player out of the two? And which one of the styles would better fit your dream team?
