Angel Reese is in a race against time. With just a month left for the All-Star game, Reese faces stiff competition from the likes of Paige Bueckers, Caitlin Clark, and more.

But Reese has made her case against Clark as the Atlanta Dream beat the Indiana Fever in back-to-back games. At the center of it all was the Bayou Barbie, leading the Dream by reaching 1,000 overall rebounds.

In the most recent game, Reese dominated with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and an assist as the Dream won 113-96. She also made two steals and a block. After the game, Reese also asked fans to vote for her to feature in the upcoming All-Star game.

That's because the first returns of the fan voting for the All-Star Game from June 17, placed Reece. seventh with 204,643 votes for her. Back in 2025, she ranked 10th in fan voting after receiving 506,741 votes. But after back-to-back wins against the Fever, she has definitely made her case stronger to surpass her current ranking.

So far this season, Reese has shown immense tenacity, as she also broke the record for reaching the 1,000 career rebound milestone. She achieved this in just 79 games, becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to do so. The record was earlier held by veteran Tina Charles, who achieved the milestone in 89 games.

But that's not all. This season has been Reese's best in the WNBA so far. She's 15.3 points and 2.7 assists per game. She has also been vigilant on defense, averaging 1.3 steals per game, and leads her team in blocks at 0.9 per game.

The importance of the moment is not lost to Angel Reese

Talking to reporters after the game, Reese mentioned, "I think a lot of times I'm really hard on myself about what I want to be and how great I want to be, but just taking my time and just knowing that I've done some great things, and just patting myself on the back, and just knowing that I want more."

Thanks to her contributions, the Dream now stands first in the Eastern Conference standings and third in the league standings. They also hold a record of 11 wins and four losses and are on a three-game winning streak.

The Dream will play against the Toronto Tempo next on Monday, June 22. Reese hopes to continue her string of great performances.

While Reese continues to dominate on the court, voting for the WNBA All-Star Game remains open until Saturday, June 27. The All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, July 25, at the United Center in Chicago.
