Angel Reese Shares Why She Turned Down Living Like 'Just a Basketball Player'

While Angel Reese is one of the best talents in the WNBA at just 24 years old, she might be the biggest star to come out of the league when it is all said and done.

Reese has always been open about her wish to be more than just a basketball player, and she reiterated that during a recent conversation with Cosmopolitan when she was asked what her mindset is while building a world outside of basketball.

"I’m just trying to take things day by day and live in the moment as best as I can. If I’m doing one thing, I put 100 percent into it. I told myself this year I was going to be a lot more intentional with celebrating each win, so I’m trying to be in the moment."

"I had to grow up fast, so everything came fast and it’s been all about learning. I’m figuring things out as I go." Reese replied.

"I want to be known as more than just a basketball player."

And to Reese's credit, she has been doing that and more by actively pursuing other ventures and building her portfolio as no other WNBA star has.

For starters, Reese has completely ventured into the fashion industry, making plenty of red carpet appearances and appearing in high-profile events like the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and Met Gala. Plus, her tunnel fits are a delight to watch for all fans.

Reese also has her own podcast called Unapologetically Angel, where she invites all kinds of celebrities and shows a more natural side of herself.

The Dream star also has her own line of basketball shoes from Reebok, the Angel Reese 1, which usually sells out like hot cakes with every new colorway dropped.

But basketball remains her No. 1 priority, and she has shown how good she is at it, with her latest example being against the Dallas Wings.

Angel Reese Helps the Dream Escape Wings Fear

Angel Reese and the Dream barely scraped past the Wings with an 82-81 victory, coming back from a 15-point deficit on Wednesday night.

Reese was once again one of the centerpieces for the Dream, scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for her 18th double-double of the season for the Dream, who have now won four in a row and five of six following a five-game losing streak.

With Dallas leading 81-77 and 18.7 seconds left, Ogunbowale committed a Flagrant 1 foul on Gray's 3-point attempt.

Gray made all three free throws before taking the inbounds pass and sinking a contested jumper in the lane, giving Atlanta its first lead of the second half with 15 seconds remaining.

Awak Kuier missed a corner 3-point shot before Shepard’s putback attempt at the buzzer missed.

The 17-10 Dream will take this win any day of the week, as they can continue their win streak against the Seattle Storm before facing off against the reigning champions, the Las Vegas Aces.
