Angel Reese Launches 'Poison Angel' Sneaker Inspired by Her Halloween Costume

Angel Reese is not letting Caitlin Clark's signature line get all the spotlight, as she and Reebok are adding another bucket to the Bayou Barbie’s growing sneaker lineup with the latest edition of the Reebok Angel Reese 1.

Reebok gave fans the first look at the new colorway, the electric lime-green "Poison Angel" on Instagram. It is a direct inspiration of her 2024 Halloween costume, when she was dressed as Poison Ivy, a famous villain of the Batman franchise.

But this time, the Atlanta Dream forward traded the dramatic feathers and sequins for a cleaner, game-ready look.

The sneaker rocks a vibrant, eye-catching color that pops without being over the top, blending performance with the fashion-forward energy that has become Reese’s trademark.

"The Angel Reese 1 ‘Poison Angel’ colorway is bold by design,” Reese said in an official statement by Reebok. “It represents confidence, edge, and owning your space. This colorway is for anyone who plays fearlessly, stands out from the crowd, and isn’t afraid to be seen.”

And it definitely seemed like the new colorway gave Reese an additional boost against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Thursday night.

Reese scored a team-high double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, which propelled the Dream to a 108-101 victory against the Fever, subsequently spoiling Clark's debut with the Nike Caitlin 1.

This sneaker war was the latest addition to Reese and Clark's longstanding rivalry since their collegiate days. Funnily enough, Shaquille O'Neal has wanted Reese to take the rivalry off the hardwood for a while as well.

Shaquille O'Neal's Idea About Angel Reese Debuting Shoes Against Caitlin Clark

While Reese and Clark debuting new shoes/colorways on the same day might have been a coincidence, it seems like Shaq's dream has come true.

O'Neal is the President of Reebok's Basketball Division and had signed Reese to the brand.

During a 2025 episode of the "Power Moves with Shaquille O'Neal" Netflix documentary about Reebok, Shaq and Angel were having a conversation about when Reese should debut her signature shoe.

"In a perfect world — say yes, please say yes — in a perfect world, I would like you to debut [the signature shoes] against Caitlin Clark. I'll even come to the game," Shaq said to Reese, referring to the May 17, 2025, WNBA season opener game between the Fever and the Chicago Sky, for whom Reese was playing at the time.

While Reese seemed on board with the idea, it ultimately did not end up happening, as the AR1s were not ready to be shown to the world at the start of last season.

Still, it is quite interesting to see how things turned out a year later, and only time will tell if Nike and Reebok collide with the dates of new releases, now that Clark also has her own signature shoe line.
