Angel Reese sparked a social media debate after a brief exchange with a reporter after the Atlanta Dream's 78-71 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday night.
The moment came during the postgame press conference. A reporter congratulated Reese for breaking an “NBA record” before correcting himself.
Realizing the mistake, he tried to wave it off: "Well, you know what I'm talking about. She knows what I’m talking about"
Reese wasn't having it. "No, I don't because I be setting NBA records too," she fired back at the reporter.
The reporter tried to smooth things over, agreeing that was his point all along, but the damage was done.
The clip, shared by BrickCenter on X from the Atlanta Dream's postgame broadcast, put Reese in the spotlight and garnered negative reaction from several social media users for her demeanor.

Reese's pushback came immediately after delivering one of the most dominant rebounding performances in WNBA history.
During Atlanta's win, she pulled down 26 rebounds in a single game. It broke the previous WNBA single-game record of 24 set by Chamique Holdsclaw in 2003.
On the very same night, Reese pushed her season total to 458 rebounds, surpassing A'ja Wilson's single-season mark of 451 set in 2024.
Reese finished the night with 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting, three assists, and three steals in 38 minutes of playing time, recording her WNBA-leading 27th double-double of the season.
The dominant performance fueled Atlanta's fourth straight victory since their last loss against the Indiana Fever.
The Dream currently sit in first place in the Eastern Conference with a 25-13 record and have already secured their fourth consecutive trip to the playoffs.
Record-setting night takes backseat as postgame reaction ignites backlash
Reese's exchange with the reporter landed her in a negative light across social media platforms following the game.
One fan wrote, "Huh? He is literally giving her a compliment. What's with her weird attitude?"
Even diehard Reese fans also felt disappointed by the interaction.
As one fan posted, "I expect people who go to college to speak properly. My goddess this is sad."
One fan pointed out that Wilt Chamberlain's NBA record for rebounds in a game sits at 55, set on November 24, 1960. And the fan argued Reese still had room to grow before drawing NBA comparisons.
"This woman is freaking delusional. 26 rebounds is big deal but the all-time NBA record for the most rebounds in a single game is 55 rebounds, set by Wilt Chamberlain on November 24, 1960. Good player but needs to be more humble," the commentator wrote.
Some fans even went further, questioning whether the record deserved the hype at all.
"Is there any way to tabulate how many of those rebounds are as a result of her own misses?" the fan asked.
It's a fair question in general, but not one this game supports. Out of her 26 total rebounds, 18 came on the defensive end, setting a new league record for defensive boards in a single game. And she has more offensive rebounds than the Sparks combined (7).
That doesn't stop the jokes, however, as one fan commented at the end, "She doesn't get rebounds, she gets mebounds."
