Angel Reese had quite the showdown against the Indiana Fever on August 16, 2026. Her intense rivalry with Caitlin Clark was on full display, and the match ended in a close 95-91 score.
Reese has averaged roughly 12 rebounds per game in the 2026 season. Her elite rebounding ability was clear against the Fever despite their loss.
Basketball commentator Skip Bayless also complimented it, but with a twist.
"Reese is leading the league in rebounding - but also in badly blown layups," Bayless wrote after the game in an X post. "Never seen anything like her lack of control at the rim. Can make you laugh or wince."

Angel Reese's FG% in the regular season stands at 42.0, as per StatMuse. Her shooting stats have also been rough over the last week, as per The Spun's Andrew Holleran.
She has shot less than 30% from the field and less than 20% from the three-point line in recent history. This includes her matchup with the Indiana Fever.
While her rebounds help move the team forward, missing shots can have drastic consequences. Reese is already one of the best rebounders in the WNBA.
To reach elite status, Reese must address her shooting—a fixable flaw that could unlock her full potential.
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark's moment causes controversy
Angel Reese's physicality was on full display against the Indiana Fever. This manifested as a rough moment with her opponent and rival, Caitlin Clark.
During the first quarter of the match, Reese attempted to keep Clark from accessing the ball after Rhyn Howard's miss. In the process, she seemingly pushed her opponent by the neck.
This moment quickly caught the fans' eye. The push appeared somewhat aggressive, angering many, as reported by PFSN's Miguel de Guzman.
However, the officials did not call a foul on Reese's action even though Clark appeared quite surprised by it all.
