Angel Reese drops 5-word reaction as Dream bags 2-0 semifinals lead vs. Liberty

Angel Reese had another reason to celebrate after the Atlanta Dream moved closer to the WNBA Finals. The Dream beat the New York Liberty in a thrilling overtime game. After the win, Reese returned to X with a familiar five-word reaction that has now become part of her celebrations.

The Dream beat the Liberty 101-98 in Game 2 on October 7. The win gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five WNBA semifinals. The Dream now needs just one more win to reach the Finals. Reese played an important role in the victory.

After the game, she posted on X, “DUBS IN THE MF CHATTT.”

Angel Reese backed up her words with another strong performance. She scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds. She also had two assists, one steal, and two blocks. Fox Sports reported that Reese scored six of Atlanta’s 13 points in overtime. She then made two late free throws to give the Dream a three-point lead.

Her post also repeated something she did earlier in the series. After Atlanta beat New York 92-82 in Game 1 on October 4, Reese posted the same five-word message on X.

The Spun reported that Reese had also played well in that game. She finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three blocks. Her performance helped Atlanta take the first game of the series.

So Reese has now used “DUBS IN THE MF CHATTT” after both of Atlanta’s semifinal wins. The phrase has become a small part of the Dream’s strong start against the Liberty.

Angel Reese continues her strong playoff run

Reese also carried her good form into the Liberty series after helping Atlanta sweep the Washington Mystics in the first round.

According to ESPN's Player Page, Reese had 13 points and 12 rebounds in Game 1 against Washington. She then finished Game 2 with 15 points and seven rebounds. The Dream won those games 92-77 and 93-75 to reach the semifinals.

The matchup with New York was much tougher. Still, Reese continued to make an impact. She started the semifinal series with 17 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three blocks in Game 1. Atlanta won that game 92-82.

Game 2 brought even more pressure. The Dream needed overtime to beat the Liberty, but Reese stepped up again.

Atlanta now leads the series 2-0. Reese has played a key role in both wins, and her repeated X post has become a clear sign of her celebration. The Dream are now just one win away from the WNBA Finals.
