Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese had reached several career milestones this season, including breaking records, reaching the playoffs, and even representing the USA in the 2028 FIBA World Cup.
According to a recent X post, broadcaster and analyst Nia Symone asked Reese about her support system as she navigates developments in both her on-court and off-court career. Reese took the opportunity to speak about the people who inspired her.
“I think probably my family. My mom is my biggest supporter,” Reese said. “She travels. This is the first time she's been traveling. She loves the moms. Ryn's mom and Naz's mom, they're like three trios. They always travel together, and they're supporting us all the time and texting us.”

During the interview clip posted by Nia Symone on X on August 30, the Dream forward went on to mention how her agent, Jeanine Ogbonnaya, plays an important role in keeping her grounded.
“Janine, my agent, she's always supportive. I mean, they have a group chat with Jeanine, and they're joking around all the time. So, I think it's just so much fun,” Reese said during the interview.
She added that her partner, Orlando Magic player Wendell Carter Jr., is also part of her support system, someone who has been there for her during the best and worst of times.
She added that being an NBA player himself, he understood the struggles that came with being a pro-athlete.
“at home, my partner is great. He's always supporting me and always there for me through the highs and the lows and telling me how special I am,” the Dream forward added. “I think that also has helped, especially somebody else that's in the space that is in the professional and has played at the highest level and knows what it takes to be great and be here in this moment.”
Overall, Reese seemed grateful to Atlanta, which included all her teammates, coaches, and fans, for supporting her journey so far.
Angel Reese breaks yet another WNBA record
Along with making the active roster for the US women’s national basketball team, Angel Reese has been breaking records left and right.
According to an August 30 report by USA Today, Reese recorded her 29th double-double of the season, setting a new all-time WNBA single-season record.
“So many people write me off. So many people have doubted me. Coming into the league and being the seventh pick, nobody thought I was gonna be able to be in this position, but I knew. And the people in my circle knew,” Reese said about setting milestones, per USA Today’s report.
This season, Reese has already broken the records for most rebounds in a single game, set by Chamique Holdsclaw in 2003, and most rebounds made in a single season, which was set by A’ja Wilson last year.
