Angel Reese has always prioritized family, and her recent social media post showed this clearly as the Atlanta Dream star paused from the WNBA hustle to honor a brother who loves the game as she does.
On Monday, the Atlanta Dream player headed to Instagram to celebrate her step-brother Mikael Hopkins' birthday.
"Happy birthday to my brother! I love youuuuu! @mikaelhopkins," Reese wrote, signing off the post with a string of heart and hug emojis.

Hopkins, who graduated from Georgetown University at 6'9", plays in the Russian VTB United League for BK Parma and has an average of 9.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.8 blocks in the 2025-26 season.
The sport is also a big part of the family tradition since their father, Michael Reese, participated in basketball games at college and internationally.
However, the siblings grew up separately: Reese in Baltimore with her full brother Julian, while Hopkins had a different upbringing. Her mother’s name is Angel Webb Reese.
On the other hand, Hopkins was brought up by a different mother, although they do appear to have formed a true brother-sister relationship.
But the fact is that Reese's dedication to her family is only one aspect of her personality. She has also spoken out about how much she loves the world of sports, and she is fully engrossed in the FIFA World Cup, which is happening in Atlanta right now.
Angel Reese Eyes World Cup Attendance
The fact is that by playing for the Atlanta Dream during this off-season, she has put herself right in the thick of the biggest sports event in the world.
"My teammates were able to go (Sunday). I didn't make it (Sunday), but I will plan to make one of the games," Reese shared on ESPN's SportsCenter.
Her Dream team players had already witnessed Spain beat Saudi Arabia 4-0 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Reese is ready to do the same despite the “chaotic” environment and “crazy” traffic that the event has caused in the city.
"If the U.S. comes here, I definitely want to see them play and go out there and support. But it's really cool to see a different environment, different people coming here just to enjoy sports. It's because I really love sports," she added on SportsCenter.
Her crossover appeal is justified, considering the way in which she has developed herself as an athlete who is not limited to just one sport.
Reese made history as the fastest player in WNBA history to amass 1,000 rebounds in only 79 games. Her success in the game enables her to interact in other sporting fields as well.
