4 seasons down and 3 more to come, the Atlanta Dream is not letting Allisha Gray go before 2029’s free agency. And the Dream Guard wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It makes me feel amazing. I'm loved here in Atlanta,” she said in the postgame conference after the Dream’s 107-95 blowout win against Toronto Tempo. “This organization has made me feel so well about myself. That's why when it was time to extend and resign, it was no hesitation for me.”
Gray, 31, signed a three-year, max-plus contract extension with the Dream this April, worth $3.7 million in total. This showed the value and trust the franchise is putting in her. But the guard also feels it and backs it up with her game.

She’s averaging 18.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists this season. Against the Tempo, Gray logged in for 33 minutes, posting 15 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Most importantly, she knew whatever a game turns out to be, the team and the fans will appreciate her for who she is.
“This is a place I definitely want to retire and finish,” she added. “The little kids really make me feel good because no matter how I play, I can have an on night, off night; they don't see all that. They see me as the person, and they make me feel good regardless of the game that I have.”
Basically, a match made in heaven. And this wasn’t the only time Gray had expressed similar sentiments about Atlanta.
How the Dream Unlocked Allisha Gray's potential
Ever since joining the franchise in 2023, she’s been named an All-Star for 4 consecutive seasons, finished fourth in the 2025 WNBA MVP voting, made it to an All-WNBA first team, set several franchise records, etc. And she knows what role the Dream played in this run.
"In my three years here, I feel I've had the ultimate green light," Gray said in 2025, per Yahoo Sports reporter Cassandra Negley. “Ever since I've been here, I've been an All-Star, I've had fun, I've improved every year as a player.”
In her words, joining the Dream was the “leap of faith," which couldn’t be any more perfect. The re-signing, therefore, is indeed a no-brainer.
