Aliyah Boston and Candace Parker Snub Caitlin Clark in Surprising MVP Picks

If it wasn’t obvious already, Caitlin Clark is arguably having her best season. But that wasn’t enough for Aliyah Boston and Candace Parker to put her into the MVP conversation.

“I think in terms of MVP… it's A’Ja Wilson, Olivia Miles, Kelsey Mitchell, Paige Bueckers,” the former WNBA star declared during the latest episode of Post Moves podcast. “Those are my four.”

Leading the league in assists (8.2), third in scoring (21.7PPG), and in the middle of a 2-game winning streak, the Indiana Fever guard is averaging more than she did in the 2024-25 (19.2PPG) and 2025-26 season (16.5).

Although a persistent back issue has bothered her earlier this season, Clark has mostly remained healthy. Surely, Parker naming Wilson, the 4-time reigning MVP and Mitchell, the second-leading scorer (24.3PPG), as potential MVP candidates made sense.

But Miles and Bueckers felt pretty out of place. The Minnesota Lynx rookie's 19.8 PPG and the Dallas Wings' star's 20.2 PPG are strong numbers. But neither matches Clark's all-around impact.

What makes it even more surprising is that Parker has never backed down from praising Clark in the past.

Candace Parker’s Past Praise for Caitlin Clark Makes the Scene More Puzzling

Back in 2025, when the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry peaked, Parker was one of those who applauded both players for what they’ve done for the league, mainly Clark. The former WNBA star went a step further, calling Clark generational and transcendental.

“Is Caitlin Clark a freaking baller? Is she a generational player? Is she fun to watch? 100%,” she said on a 2025 episode of the All Facts No Brakes podcast.

“I think she has transcended (the league). You think about that Midwest, fall in love… sell-out crowds, things like that,” Parker also said on the All The Smoke podcast in the same year. “I think that leads back to where the game is now, in terms of shooting. And her taking that and making it better."

Boston’s lack of protest to Parker’s MVP pick was another stingy part. The Fever center plays alongside Clark and has been vocal about her on-court dominance in the past as well.

Now, all eyes will be on voters, whether they swing by Parker's listing or give Clark credit for her amazing stat lines.
