A'ja Wilson Stats Breakdown vs Sparks: Aces Star Continues to Make WNBA History

Getting to the top is difficult in itself, but staying on top is what separates a great player from a good player. And Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson has already surpassed both into a legendary one.

After winning basically everything the WNBA has to offer, the three-time MVP still finds a way to break records. Wilson recently took on one of her favorite opponents in the Los Angeles Sparks, as another record was just waiting to be broken through her.

According to Opta STATS on X, Wilson has scored 20 or more points in eight consecutive league games, her fifth career streak of at least eight 20-point games. No other player in WNBA history has more than three such streaks.

The Aces took a comfortable 79-69 win against the Sparks thanks to Wilson, who finished the game with 25 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks, and three steals to help bring the Aces' record to a 6-3 slate.

At this point, a stat line like this seems so normal when talking about Wilson, which just goes to show how consistently great she has been ever since setting foot in the league.

The Aces extended their record to 7-3 after the win against the Golden State Valkyries on Saturday, as Wilson again scored 28 points along with 14 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Aces are sitting handsomely at second place as the Commissioner's Cup continues. However, that was not the case at this point in time last season, yet she and the Aces managed to win the championship.

Ahead of the game against the Sparks, Wilson spoke about the challenges of staying on top for so long, individually and collectively.

A'ja Wilson Reveals How She Stays at the Top of Her Game

The Aces had a slow start in the WNBA last season. But they managed to find their way out of the slump, and after winning the last 16 regular-season games, they used that momentum to become champions for the third time in the last four years.

Ahead of the Sparks game, Wilson revealed that it is quite easy to get complacent on top, but regardless of anything, she still manages to find a way.

"Challenges staying on top? Having to consistently be great on days that you may not feel the best," Wilson said.

"You have to really take on a lot. But it's nothing more than the Lord has put on me. He knows what I'm in. I know exactly what He's put on me to understand and tackle that. So I think just staying on top is being consistently great on days that you may not always feel the best." The reigning MVP added.

In a career filled with a plethora of hardware, Wilson has nothing to prove in the league and will go down as one of the best to ever do it if she retires tomorrow.

However, that is clearly not what she wants when she knows she can still become better. And who knows what we are witnessing from her is not even her prime, given her insane numbers, which are only going up.

Regardless, A'ja Wilson is here to stay, and the MVP of the league will once again be in action when the Aces take on the Seattle Storm on Monday night.

So, do you think A'ja Wilson will retire as the greatest women's basketball player of all time? Or is she already there? Let us know in the comments.
